Registration is now open, climbs will take place between April and June 2014.  You can 'flag' as many Munros as you want - we're trying to flag them all and we need your help!

Important
Before registering a group you MUST get consent from your DofE Manager.  Your group will not be allowed to participate if you do not have consent.  Read on for further criteria for participation....

Getting Involved
  • The challenge is open to all UK DofE participants, volunteers and leaders.
  • There are no restrictions on the age of participants in the group; all must be currently undertaking an award, volunteering or leading at a DofE centre.
  • All groups must be led by a DofE Manager or Leader - referred to as the Challenge Lead.
  • The named Challenge Lead must complete the registration form online.
  • DofE Scotland is unable to support travel or subsistence costs.
  • Groups can get to the top of the Munro in any way you can - walk, climb, bike, run - the choice is yours!
  • Some Munros are accessible to participants with additional needs, please see www.munromagic.com for more information.
  • Support packs will be posted to groups after registration is complete, a minimum of 5 working days will be required to allow time for postage.
  • Registration will be open until Monday 9th June.
  • Flag a Munro Challenge climbs will commence from Tuesday 1st April, all climbs must be completed by Monday 16th June.
  • Every group is required to submit at least 1 photograph, taken at the summit of the Munro.
  • The photograph must include the Flag a Munro flag (as supplied in the group pack), please be as creative as possible with your composition.  All photographs must be submitted by Monday 30th June.
  • Photograph's can be submitted to Flagamunro@dofe.org.
  • In addition to the photograph each group is required to complete a short questionnaire detailing how the experience was for the group and individual participants, along with any other media you may have such as video footage.
  • All individual photographs' documenting climbs will form part of a larger piece of lasting artwork.
  • All Young Scot NEC card holders will receive 500 Rewards points for completion of the Challenge.  If you are 11-25 get your card now and if you have not already, sign up for Rewards today.

Notes for Challenge Lead
  • Once registered each group will receive a Flag a Munro Challenge pack to support climb(s)
  • The pack will contain a project flag and several other items to support your groups climb.
  • Provision is made for a maximum of 10 individual items per group.
  • Each group is invited to share their adventure(s) via the official blog site, from the planning to completion, let us know how you are getting on.
  • Photographic submissions may feature as part of an exhibition(s).
  • Photographs, video, information and quotes from impact reports may be used in DofE publications.

Disclaimer
It is the responsibility of the named Challenge Lead to ensure that those taking part in the challenge are capable of doing so and that all reasonable precautions are taken when undertaking the challenge.  The Challenge Lead must inform the Licenced Organisation manager and follow all Licenced Organisation procedures.  The Duke of Edinburgh's Award cannot accept responsibility for the supervision of the participants.  The suitability of the proposed route for the participants is dependent on their experience, training, equipment, physical fitness and the weather condition.
